Organization Key Performance Indicators – Bottom Up and Top Down

Specific key performance indicators need to be put in place at each individual process that link the performance of each step in the value stream to organization (internal) and customer (external) business needs. high level business needs and customer demands set the target for each individual cycle.

For example, customer demand and timing (lead time) needs to be translated into terms of the total amount of time each step in the value stream needs to be completed in (desired cycle time/takt). These are your KPI targets.
