Once a relatively obscure form of social news AMA’s are now hitting headlines around the world. You have probably heard the name Reddit.com once or a million times depending on how much you frequent the news stand so to speak, be it virtual or tangible. Well the majority of these reports are referring to AMA’s on Reddit.
What is an AMA? It’s a discussion thread of questions, started on Reddit.com, hosted by a person of interest, who declares “I Am [Person X], Ask Me Anything.” Its a great no holds barred interview with the world essentially, via the internet. The honest, earnest and sometimes provoking nature of the questions are normative, you would rarely see them show up in your typical media interview. The format helps break down the social barriers that separate celebrities, politicians, scientists, astronauts, etc. From us normal folk, all from the comfort of you home interweb connection. It really is a thing of beauty when you can go home jump on your computer and start chatting with: President Obama, Bill Gates, Al Gore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tony Hawk, astronauts currently in orbit, Playboy models, or your favorite night time TV stars. But how the heck is this a learning tool right?
Like any great tool, its all in how one uses it. Hammers are fun, but you don’t use them to put in drywall screws. So, I have devised a collaborative learning approach to my use of the AMA. I’m setting out to use the AMA format to greater understand my clients, colleagues, and anyone willing to share and learn about TPS. Its my goal to use this underutilized social-academic tool to share meaningful knowledge, like astronaut Chris Hadfield did while in space, and hopefully have some great knowledge poured my way too.
So, on April 28th 2014 between the hours of 1pm and 3pm I encourage you to visit True North Thinking Inc.’s Linked In page, http://www.linkedin.com/company/true-north-thinking-inc , to ask me anything relating to TPS and the implementation of TPS so that I may virtually meet with you and discuss live these concepts and methodologies that can truly save the world, one kaizen at a time. After all learning is not driven in answers but in the questions one is presented, so please I implore you ask away. Thank you for your time and I look foreword to seeing you soon. Till then
Keep
Calm,
and
Kaizen
On!
